From 5832ac1cc21b2d0820b8061a95b368f9e1f82c2b Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Loup Vaillant Date: Fri, 9 Feb 2018 21:58:27 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] Less provocative introductory paragraph Some people interpret the previous wording to mean that Monocypher already eats Libsodium's lunch, which is obviously false. Status slap-down ensues, and I have to explain the difference between "means to" and "does". This also hints more clearly at the scope of Monocypher: do no more than TweetNacl (except for password key derivation), stay small and portable without sacrificing too much speed. (That scope may need to be clearly stated somewhere.) --- README.md | 5 ++--- 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 3 deletions(-) diff --git a/README.md b/README.md index 1450cd2..4a7761f 100644 --- a/README.md +++ b/README.md @@ -2,9 +2,8 @@ Monocypher ---------- Monocypher is an easy to use, easy to deploy, auditable crypto library -inspired by [libsodium][] and [TweetNaCl][], written in portable C. - -It means to eat Libsodium's lunch. +written in portable C.
